Luxury Camping in Cornwall
Until recently I was not aware that there was anything luxurious about camping. I always associated with those outdoorsy types and being cold, wet and uncomfortable. However, my opinions have now changed after a recent visit to Perran Spring Holiday Park in Cornwall. They offer an alternative to the traditional styles I am used to called ‘glamping’ and after a brief family meeting, we decided we would give it a try.
The Park itself is in a superb setting, tucked away in around 21 acres of beautiful countryside not far from the small town of Perranporth and its white surf beaches. It is also well situated for exploring further afield to places like the administrative centre Truro. Well worth a visit here is the Cathedral and the Royal Cornwall Museum, open all year round. The park is also not so far from Newquay, again famous for its surfing beaches and nightlife.
Perran Springs offer two alternatives for a glamping experience. Super Eurotents, and new for opening in July 2015, glamping pods. Being a family we took the Eurotents, but I will give you a run down on the pods shortly as they were pretty impressive. The tents have three double separate bedrooms so comfortably sleep a family of six and come fully equipped with everything you would expect from a luxury tent, including t.v, fridge and all the cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment you will need. Very comfortable, and there is no tripping up over little humps and bumps in the ground as they have a fixed floor as weel.
Now for the pods. I had a really good look round these. They are quite spacious and are for two people only so perfect for couples wanting to get away from the hustle of daily life and enjoy a relaxing break away together. Made from wood, they are well built, have double glazing and are insulated. They come with the basics, so you will have to check exactly what you will need to take with you when you book. There is electrical sockets in them and there is space outside to park a car. They also have a small veranda, perfect for a few sundowners after exploring the local area.
The park also has a few things to keep the kids happy, fishing ponds and nature walks and the like. It also has everything you expect a site of this quality to have. The showers are fantastic! I would definitely recommend a stay here, and if it is camping pods, Cornwall and definitely Perran Springs is perfect. Contact them at the details below.
