Marvellous Majorca

When it comes to finding somewhere that offers a little bit of everything, you’ll be hard pressed to beat Majorca. The largest of the Balearic Islands, cast out into the Mediterranean just off the east coast of Spain, this lovely island is home to a fantastic variety of things to see, do and experience.

For starters, city slickers will love the sights and sounds of cosmopolitan Palma, the island’s capital city. Here you can shop to your heart’s content, sip a frothy cappuccino on a leafy plaza, visit the magnificent cathedral and gaze at its stunning Gothic architecture, tuck into tasty tapas and fresh Spanish cuisine, and soak up its rich variety of nightlife as the sun goes down.

Beach-lovers are spoilt for choice. From the long stretches of golden sandy coastlines at Alcudia and C’an Picafort, to the secluded coves and bays of Cala D’Or and the shingle beach that’s sandwiched between the water and the pretty town of Puerto De Soller, there’s certainly plenty of choice.

There are plenty of ways to get there too. You can organise your own flights to Palma Airport and book your own accommodation and transport options, or you could opt for a package holiday. Far from the package deals of the past, today’s holiday market is a vibrant place full of choice and exciting experiences. For instance, when you search for holidays from Thomas Cook you’ll find everything from private villas and budget-friendly apartments to chic city hotels and sprawling five-star spa resorts.

What’s more, there are always plenty of deals on offer too, which helps to make things that little bit easier. So whether you’re heading to the Balearic Islands for the beaches, the city, the nightlife or just to do as little as possible, there’s something for everyone in marvellous Majorca.
